Stainless Steel Ratchet Buckles

GTF stocks a range of Stainless Steel Ratchet Buckles to suit webbing in 25mm, 35mm and 50mm widths. These buckles are used both in the manufacture of GTF’ in house range of Stainless Steel Ratchet Straps and sold separately on a B2B basis.

The Stainless Steel range comprises two distinct buckles differentiated by both the stainless steel grade used and the design of the buckle.

Firstly GTF has the type 304 grade buckle manufactured from Type 304 alloy stainless steel. This grade of buckle is used in the food industry, in acidic conditions in the fruit industry, in sterile environments such as dairy and in conditions where the components are exposed to damp and maritime (therefore salty) corrosive conditions. Type 304 is the standard austenitic (meaning that it has at least 18% chrome and 8% nickel) providing corrosion resistance to a very high degree. However, all Type 304 steels will tarnish in sever conditions. It is non-magnetic and cannot be hardened by heat treatment.

Secondly GTF has a stainless steel buckle made from Type 316 alloy stainless steel which differs from Type 304 by the fact that is super austenitic created by the addition of at least 3% molybdenum which increases further the steel’s resistance to corrosion in the most extreme environments including brine baths and acid environments encountered in the paper industry. Type 316 is the principle stainless steel used in extreme and arduous maritime environments. Other grades of stainless steel do exist but Type 304 & Type 316 is most commonly used by far in the load restraint industry.

Both ratchet buckles are designed and have markings fully compliant with European Standard for Load Restraint – EN12195-2.

Complementing the Type 304 and Type 316 stainless steel ratchets is a range of stainless steel hooks made from the same grade of stainless steel.

GTF has a complete production facility in the UK where these components are made up into finished systems. In addition, other systems are assembled using different grades of metal, a wide range of end fittings and high quality webbing. Bespoke systems (subject to order) are also available as is webbing printing and a selection of operating load restraint handling products.

Along with but separate from the ranges of assembled systems is the supply of individual components which are sold to other load restraint manufacturers and specialist companies.

Email or call GTF to discuss your requirements either from the current product range or to see whether GTF might be able to help solve any peculiar load restraint problems that you might have.
